While we expect shortages in supply to be a reality, we are committed to maintaining a strong presence for our employees and our customers. We will work tirelessly to ensure our customers that their seafood products are safe and available for the time being.

An important message about the Louisiana Seafood Industry

As the Gulf coast continues to languish in the oil crisis, the Gulf seafood industry reamins active and continues to provide safe and available seafood. Despite efforts by some national media outlets to distort the resillience of the Louisiana seafood industry, steady supplies of oysters, crabs, finfish, and shrimp continue to be harvested and made available to the world.

The message to the rest of the country is and should be, "we are still producing the world's finest seafood, and we are still open for business!"

We urge our citizens and our consumers nationwide not to succumb to the doom and gloom outlook painted daily in the media concerning seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. Please continue to demand and enjoy seafood from the Gulf; there is none better! Anywhere!

And please remember, in Louisiana; we don't need or want a handout, we'll take a hand up! Support our industry!
